House Mufti Day
Next Friday - 10th February - children can wear clothing or accessories to represent the House they are in this year. There is no donation required for this Mufti Day.
School Celebration Assemblies
Our school hall is again being used as a classroom this term so we are unable to invite parents to join our Celebration Assemblies at this stage.
Reading books
Last year we had over $3000 of our instructional readers go missing. Can you please have a hunt around at home (we are hunting at school too) and return them to your child's class teacher or the office if you do happen to find any labelled Tinwald School.
Sunhats
A reminder that all children are required to be wearing a school sunhat this term. Our PTA gifts a hat to all New Entrants. We allow children a one week amnesty at the start of the term to organise their hat, from then on children without hats will be asked to stay in shaded areas.
Conversations about heritage
As we get to know your children better we will be having many conversations about heritage, ancestors, family dynamics and cultural similarities and differences. Our current Tinwald families identify with over ten different cultures and we would like to acknowledge this by learning more. It would be terrific if you can discuss your own links to various cultures - now and in your family history so that the children can share this knowledge with others. Behind the scenes we are working towards having activities celebrating our cultures over the week of 26th February to 1st March. If you can (or you know someone who can) help us in this regard, please come in and chat with us.
Parent Teacher Association
All parents are invited to our first PTA meeting this year, 7pm in the school hall on Monday 12th February. Come and meet our team and find out what is happening this year.
Board of Trustees Meeting
The BOT will meet for the first time this year on Monday 19th February at 7pm in the office. Any correspondence must be to the presiding member, Mr Chris Hill, at least 24 hours before the meeting.
